Hop! Hop! Bark ...

So we missed Easter, but we couldn't pass up an opportunity to share some Easter shots and wish everyone belated wishes and a Happy Spring! Thanks to our ISSDC NE Region members Monica from Kindred Spirit Shilohs, Heather at Mac Shilohs, Cindy Schleifer at ilovetakoda.com and an honorary NE member Jan Jacobs for supplying the photos.

And more wearin o' the green

We ended our St Patrick's Day post from this morning saying we were "sure all our Shilohs would prefer it if we skipped the wearin o' the green, but ya know, sometimes you just can't help it." And well, it's true and we've got the pictures to prove it. The following photos were sent in by Monica Popaduke from Kindred Spirit Shilohs in NY.

Gas to Party Source Store — $5.23
St Patrick's Day costumes — $7.99
The look on a pack of Shiloh Shepherds faces wearing the outfits — PRICELESS!

"Could I look any more pitiful?" asks Kodiak, Duke Kodiak of Babbling Brook. "I'm only doing this 'cause I love you mom."

"Uhm, I'm a proud Shiloh, do I look like Pippi 'freakin' Longstocking?" asks Bailey, Dutch's Bailey of BelleGraceBearpaw.

"I'm putting a stop to this now so they don't even begin to think this is ok!" says Ty, KindredSpirit Tikaani v MtAiry.

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Just taking a moment to wish everyone a Happy St Patrick's Day! There will be no drinking of the green beer, but maybe some partaking in the corned beef and cabbage!

Hamish, wishing you the luck o' the Irish.

Hamish and Gareth reside at Mac Shilohs in Central New York with their humans, Heather Yates and James Blackham. Hamish was born at Shenandoah Shilohs in 2004 as part of the Valentine Nine litter; Kota/Trinka. Gareth is from Star Shilohs in Utah but comes to Mac Shilohs via Ridgewood Shilohs (B&T). Gareth was born in February 2005, from Star's second Kota/Natasha litter.

Hope you all have a fun St. Patty's Day no matter how you celebrate it. I'm sure all our Shilohs would prefer it if we skipped the wearin o' the green, but ya know, sometimes you just can't help it.

Vito's first Christmas ...

Vito and his human mom Eva send greetings from New England. Eva tells us Vito really enjoyed his very first Christmas this year. On top of that mother nature provided him with quite the gift, his very first snowfall! Seems he rather enjoyed it, and by looking at the photos below I think it's safe to say he enjoyed it a bit more than the antlers!

Vito, Windsong-Sleeper's Vito, is from the Bismarck/Savvi litter born January 25, 2008. Vito, who was "Pink Boy" in his litter, comes to Eva through Wendy Fullerton of Windsong/Raid the Wind who co-bred the litter with Evadne Deeds of Sleeper Shilohs, both in VA. Vito's sire Bismarck is an ISSDC NE Region Shiloh Shepherd, who calls Stardust Shilohs in PA home.

"Uhm mom, this isn't a squeaky toy is it?" Vito checking out his new friend. Photo courtesy of Eva Girolamo.

"What's all this white stuff mom?"

"WHOOPEE!!! Snow is great!" says Vito.

I Can't Believe It's All Over ...

This photo was sent to us by our friend Rhonda at Brick Chapel Shilohs and is a fitting end to the December blog festivities. A picture is worth a thousand words as they say and this one fits the bill!

So, we present Lyla's "I can't believe Christmas is over" pic. Her 6 inch bone is chewed to the end and Daddy Konrad said Santa Paws won't be back 'til next year, what is a gal to do but pout? Lyla is Brick Chapel Shilohs "keeper" from their 2008 Konrad/Fina litter.

Go Ahead, Laugh, I Dare You ...

But you can't help but smile at this photo of Caesar and Shylo even though they don't seem all too pleased about their holiday attire. Littermates from the 2006 Saber/Fuji litter from Dreamcatcher Shilohs and Babbling Brook Shiloh Shepherds, they share their home with Kelly & Brian Potance of Jim Thorpe, PA and are sending Joyous Holiday Greetings out to their Shiloh friends and family!

Honestly, we're smiling WITH you because you look so darn cute — for some reason I just don't think they're buying that line.

And the stockings were hung ...

In celebration of puppies for they can enjoy the holidays too!

With a little help from momma Fina, the Konrad/Fina puppies hung their little stockings in a row with hopes that Santa Paws would be making a stop at their whelping box. Here they are awaiting Milkbones to appear in their stockings. L to R Kringle, Candy, Rudy, Spruce, Frosty, & Noel.

Hello Santa . . .

Today we share a variety of Shilohs meeting Santa photos . . . in my own experience Santa's eyes usually get pretty big, almost cartoonish, when they see Shilohs coming to meet them, especially more than one at a time. Still a little Shiloh lovin' usually wins them over pretty quickly.

Monica Popaduke, Kodiak and Bailey's human mom, shares their Santa story with us . . . "This was a very cool Santa. He just lost his GSD about 2 weeks ago and was all teared up when he saw Kodiak & Bailey come in. Good thing there was no line to see Santa because he spent quite a while with them. That is until Kodiak licked his face and took 1/2 the beard off. Poor Santa! Lovin' Shiloh style."

Princess Misty meets Santa!

Another lucky Shiloh got to whisper her deepest holiday wishes into Santa's ear as Janet from Bay Breeze Shilohs took her "princess" Misty to see Santa. According to Janet she was in her best "princess mode" and just charmed the boots right off Santa as he enjoyed her Shiloh smile. If it was anything like the smile she's beaming in the photo it's easy to understand why. Apparently Santa also told Misty she is a very beautiful girl, as if she doesn't all ready know that! All of the Bay Breeze Shilohs gang send wondrous holiday wishes out to everyone.

Santa's Lil Helper

Santa always needs helpers and apparently Jake has volunteered! Doesn't he look handsome in his Santa hat, the first sign of being one of Santa's doggie helpers. Jake sends holiday cheer from his home at Ridgewood Shilohs in Pennsylvania! Happy Holidays back to you Jake, could you show the Shilohs that live here how to wear a Santa hat? They just don't seem to get it.

And since we're doing antlers ...

We've got a proud Christmas Moose to share with you. The prized Christmas Moose are not as well known as the Christmas Reindeer but are every bit as important. OK, OK, so I just couldn't find reindeer antlers that first Christmas and thought the moose antlers were darn cute, especially with the lights hanging off them. Aah, the memories as this was Hamish's first Christmas in 2004. Hamish is now an old pro at how best to enjoy Christmas morning and he sends warm holiday wishes from all at Mac Shilohs urging all of you to enjoy the season to the fullest! Hamish has no idea we've found different antlers this year as well ... I'm sure he can't wait.

You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen . . .

. . .but we introduce you to Santa's newest reindeer, Storm! By the looks of it though, we're not sure Storm wants the job but he still sends out Holiday Greetings to his Shiloh friends and family. Storm shares his home with his family, The Rescigno's of New York, and two Shiloh Shepherd siblings Storm and Shooter. In fact, congratulations are in order for Storm's human dad, Frank, as his book of short stories, Old Fashioned Dog Stories, is now available and we think would make a great addition under anyone's holiday tree!

Wishing You A "Magic"al Holdiay

Our poster boy today is Magic, who shares his home in Cazenovia New York with Russ and Sandra Durkovic. Magic sends both Christmas and Chanukkah greetings and we're happy to share some of the photos his humans sent us. Thank you for the wishes Magic, many happy returns!

O Tannenbaum

We're lucky enough to share a group shot with you today, sent to us by ISSDC NE region members Meister Shilohs in Pennsylvania. I, for one, appreciate anyone who is able to capture four dogs in front of a Christmas Tree — that's impressive in so many ways! I personally would love to see the "outtakes" from this photo session!

Winter Wonderland

We know it's been said many times, but there is just something majestic about a Shiloh Shepherd in the snow — as if it's the natural order of things. The beautiful photo below is no exception, Foxy looks like she just so completely belongs on her "throne" of snow. Her owner, Dawn Swick, caught this moment during the wee hours of the morning following an ice storm which hit their area of Pennsylvania.

Foxy sends wishes for a wonderful holiday season from herself, the BelleGrace Shilohs and their humans the Swick Family.

But I'm Santa Paws . . .

Our handsome Santa Paws is Lobo, who shares his home (as well as other things—see below) with his Shiloh Shepherd pal Chase. Lobo and Chase send joyous Holiday Wishes to everyone on behalf of their family, the Verderrosa's of NJ.

PEACE

Today's greetings come from Keelie and her people (and fellow Shilohs) at Ridgewood Shilohs in PA. This beautiful photo captures a moment in time, of winter tranquility and serenity, Keelie in the moment with the natural beauty surrounding her. Maybe this photo should be titled "PEACE." Wishing you and yours PEACE this holiday season.

The Temptations of Christmas

Christmas holds many temptations for Shilohs from wrapped presents under the tree to decorations and ornaments to the box of chocolates sitting on the end table. We're all pretty much aware of these temptations, but rawhide garland, now that's just cruel and unusual punishment for a Shiloh! Today we share a precious photo of just such a temptation where Mason was caught in the act by his humans Bill & Jill Gerew on Wolfden Shilohs in NY.

"I'll get that rawhide if it's the last thing I do!"

Mason sends Holiday Treats and Greetings to all his fellow Shilohs and their humans and hopes they get lots of treats for the holidays.

Seasons Grinnings

Seasons Grinnings . . . from PA and Ridgewood B&T Shilohs Ruger! Well, he looks like he's grinning, doesn't he? Either that or he's thinking "Go ahead, make my day."
